Kathy Lishman

Sadie - Kathy - Dolly

Office Manager, Kathy Lishman, has been employed by Schuylkill Veterinary Hospital for more than 15 years.  She started as a part-time employee, developing numerous skills over time.  Attending seminars in animal behavior as well as management, she teaches puppy pre-school at the hospital.  Kathy is also responsible for the hospital's pet safety program for children; she attends schools and scout meetings to teach children how to prevent animal bites.  Kathy also earned the title Veterinary Healthcare Advisor by passing the course provided by Hill's Health Care Connection.  In addition, she is certified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, committed to aiding animals in disasters.

Daughter of William and Catherine Brehony, Kathy is a native of Pottsville.  She has been married to husband Charles for 28 years.  They have two sons and two Corgis, Dolly and Sadie.

 

Helen Weiss

Helen Weiss, Operations Manager, has been employed by Schuylkill Veterinary Hospital for over 14 years.  Daughter of John Blasko and Dorothy A. Woodring-Blasko, both deceased, Helen has lived in Schuylkill county since the age of three.  Currently residing in the Schuylkill Haven are with husband, Rick.   Helen spends lots of quality time with her dog and two cats.

Helen has succeeded professionally in a number of ways, passing Hill's Health Care Connection level one and two as well as the geriatric curriculum.  She has also attended a Practice Health Management Seminar and a Urinalysis course.  In addition, Helen has received awards for safety from OHSA and for fire protection.

Popular with clients, Helen is in charge of client satisfaction and on more than a few occasions has "gone the extra mile".

APRIL 2000 UPDATE: Recently Helen Weiss was awarded a certificate of achievement form the National Emergency Training Center.  Issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the certificate involves a course dealing with animals in disaster situations. 

 

Jackie Clay and Christy


Jacqueline Clay, an employee of Schuylkill Veterinary Hospital for more than eleven years, was born and raised in Minersville, PA. The daughter of Margaret Thompson Petrushonis and the late Wilbur John Petrushonis, Jackie is a graduate of Minersville Area High School .

Jackie supervises the radiology and surgical areas of the practice, having developed interests in these areas early in her career. She has successfully completed the disaster course offered by FEMA, a course in urinalysis and Hill's Nutritional Courses.

Currently living in Minersville with her two children, Jackie is the loving owner of four cats and a Pomeranian.

Jackie is known to her coworkers as a pet lover with exceptional compassion and empathy.
